From the early years of Ursula (1970s/1980s) - before she set her focus on the bridal market - this beautifully made piece would be perfect for a modern professional woman. This secretary style dress is completely sheer, but with a slip it is office ready! The quilted detail around neckline and covered buttons along left shoulder that lead to a scarf-style tie at the neck add to the charm of this great dress. The material is primarily acetate, but includes 6% Lycra which allows it to stretch and hug the body in all the right places for a gorgeous fit! From the 1980's this vintage dress is designed by Mignon New York for Nan Duskin (Philadelphia's premier shop for high-end women's fashions from 1926 to 1994). The underlying pattern is a gorgeous black lace floral design, which is enhanced by the outer material that is completely covered in clear sequins. The final result of this two layer design is a shimmery, silvery stunner! It has a fixed wrap style skirt in the front and is gathered at the left side of the waist and affixed with a beautiful broach. The dramatic V shaped back adds to the charm of this show-stopper. Zip back with 2 hook and eye closures at top, one snap-type button closure at each sleeve.
